SIGMA was determined to create a zoom capable of offering the brightness and resolution of a fixed focal length lens – in other words, the highest level of performance and expressiveness. The first achievement of this challenge was the SIGMA 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM | Art.

In addition to satisfying the requirements of the SIGMA Art line, this zoom was the first APS-C SLR zoom in the world to offer a constant opening of F1.8 at all focal lengths. It is on the same principles that SIGMA has developed the new SIGMA 50-100mm F1.8 DC HSM | Art, a telezoom of medium power with large diameter.

While offering a brightness superior to that of a F2.8 telezoom, it covers by itself the focal lengths of three fixed reference lenses: 85mm F1.8, 105mm F1.8 and 135mm F1.8 (24×36 equivalence) . Not content to change the situation, this lens is ideal for portraits to which it brings beautiful effects of bokeh, and establishes a new standard of quality.
